Aikido is a nonviolent Japanese martial art that promotes a spirit of harmonious cooperation. The techniques of Aikido allow the student to blend with the power of an offense, and counter destruction with defense and protection. Training is aimed at not only learning to defend ourselves, but to bring an attacker under control with out necessarily inflicting serious injury, helping to foster positive ways to deal with conflict. Aikido training will promote good balance and posture, physical coordination, and improved ability to deal with people. Safe falling and rolling skills will also be covered. The main goal of the Intro courses is to prepare students for further study, and the secondary goal is to provide some history and principles of the Art.

Please register through Livermore Area Recreation and Parks District.
Please show 15 minutes early for the first class. Bring paperwork.
Wear loose comfortable clothes, covering knees and elbows, and appropriate for light stretching and movement.
